Frances has demonstrated a sound knowledge of the conventions of writing a persuasive letter. The response is well structured with supporting ideas presented in separate paragraphs. A solid understanding of persuasive techniques is apparent but they are not always effectively used. Appropriate information about Australia has been selected, with a range of information to suit individual taste but it would benefit from greater depth. The examples provided could be more wide-ranging to target the audience more effectively. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard at the end of Stage 4.

Grade C

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
