Shannon has demonstrated elementary knowledge and understanding of statistical terms and the stem and leaf plot structure. The median has been correctly calculated and defined but a very limited level of competence is evident in the calculation of the mean and range, analysis of data and explanation of the effect of an outlier. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade E standard at the end of Stage 4.

The student has an elementary knowledge and understanding in few areas of the content and has achieved very limited competence in some of the processes and skills.
