Other Work Samples for:

Ricky has demonstrated a sound understanding of the 12-bar blues. A clear structure, built around the blues progression, is evident but the melodic material is harmonically based and does not incorporate the blues scale. The drum solo is uncharacteristic of the style, but the line is clear, and fills have been used to add variety to an otherwise rhythmically repetitive composition. Appropriate tone colours and rhythmic layers have been used for each line, and the use of technology is adequate. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.

Grade C
