Other Work Samples for:

Ashley has demonstrated an elementary understanding of the 12-bar blues. Chords I, IV and V have been used but the blues progression is not evident and the blues scale has not been used. Tone colour has been inappropriately used, and the interrelationship between the melodic and harmonic layers is poor. There is little sense of ensemble and the piece is rhythmically unstable, suggesting a lack of familiarity with the technology used, particularly the quantize function. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade E standard.

Grade E

The student has an elementary knowledge and understanding in few areas of the content and has achieved very limited competence in some of the processes and skills.
