Lou has demonstrated an adequate level of competence in planning and performing a first-hand investigation. A detailed equipment list has been provided and the method has been communicated in a logical sequence using a procedural text. An attempt has been made to obtain reliable data through the use of repetition, and a sound understanding of controlling variables is evident. Lou has investigated the impact on germination, rather than growth, and there is no mention of how the results are recorded. Safety issues have not been addressed. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade C standard.
