Other Work Samples for:

Cameron has demonstrated a high level of competence in using painting techniques and the conventions of portraiture to create a self-portrait with pet. Expressive brushwork, scraffito and patterning have been used to create a relief surface effect and to communicate personality to the audience. The central placement of the face is conventional with the pet resting in an awkward, symmetrical position. Tonal qualities enrich the artwork, and the application of background colour supports the overall gestural quality of the composition. An attempt to communicate a relationship with the pet has been made but there is little attention to detail in the pet. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade B standard.

Grade B

The student has a thorough knowledge and understanding of the content and a high level of competence in the processes and skills. In addition, the student is able to apply this knowledge and these skills to most situations.
