Work Samples - Grade C

The work samples for this grade, together, assist teachers to gain a common understanding of the standard of work typically produced by students whose performance, on balance, matches the description for Grade C.

At the end of Stage 5 for the School Certificate, student achievement is reported using the Course Performance Descriptors. Read more about School Certificate Grading.

Students are required to plan, prepare and evaluate a meal to meet the needs of adolescents.

Students read an article on organic food and identify and explain the arguments for and against organic food production.

Students will evaluate the novelty cake they have produced and suggest modifications.

Students will develop a workflow plan from a recipe and a cooking demonstration.


Activity: Developing a Food Product - Line Enhancement (View Activity…)

Students are required to research, plan, design and market a line enhancement for a new gourmet pie.


Grade C

The student has a sound knowledge and understanding of the main areas of content and has achieved an adequate level of competence in the processes and skills.
