Ricky and partner incorporated a variety of structures and vocabulary into the dialogue to express ideas. They interact with reference to purpose and participants in order to communicate by asking for prices, sizes and colours. However, they have difficulty with pronunciation, which impedes comprehension, communication and understanding. There is a lack of logical progression, there is confusion in the questions and answers, and the cultural understanding aspect is weak, with the tu/vous register confused. There is some detailed information but little logical sequencing of the conversation, which makes it confusing. There are inaccuracies in language register, and the elements in the teacher's checklist are all only covered at a basic level. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D standard.

Grade D

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
