Morgan has demonstrated a very high level of competence in representing the subject matter of a bicycle. There is evidence of careful and detailed observation in the handlebars, spokes, wheels, brakes, reflectors, gears, frame and seat. Morgan has applied skills and knowledge to a new situation. Morgan's use of line, tone and shading in this sketch demonstrates an independent, bold and informed choice in how the bicycle is represented. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade A standard at the end of Stage 2.

Grade A

The student has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the content and can readily apply this knowledge. In addition, the student has achieved a very high level of competence in the processes and skills and can apply these skills to new situations.
