Other Work Samples for:

Shannon has demonstrated basic knowledge and understanding of the structure and features of a recount. Events have been sequenced using time connectives but the tense is inconsistent and an irrelevant personal comment has been included. There is an attempt at paragraphing, and some descriptive language has been used but the sentence structure is inconsistent. There is a limited level of competence in using strategies to spell words, and the punctuation is simple but inconsistent. The handwriting is consistent in size and slope. To progress further, Shannon could organise the information more effectively in sentences and paragraphs, provide more descriptive detail, and use a wider range of spelling strategies. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D standard midway through Stage 2.

Grade D

The student has a basic knowledge and understanding of the content and has achieved a limited level of competence in the processes and skills.
