Ashley has demonstrated a basic understanding of human interaction with the Antarctic. The timeline has been well presented, showing the most significant events. Only one of the three parts of the task has been completed and a limited level of analysis and discussion of the beliefs and practices that led to interactions over the past hundred years has been shown. This work sample demonstrates characteristics of work typically produced by a student performing at grade D standard at the end of Stage 3.

    Students analyse Australian and global environments, identifying environmental issues and problems and they explore ways in which individuals and groups can contribute to solutions for these. They investigate human interactions with environments and recognise ecologically sustainable development. Students recognise various beliefs and practices and explain how these influence interactions with environments. They sketch, label and use maps, applying appropriate conventions and terminology.
